Baton Rouge Residential Real Estate Investing

As the Baton Rouge Real Estate Market continues to gain momentum, now is a good time to buy investment properties. The job market in the Greater Baton Rouge Area is good and growing, with Baton Rouge having a much lower unemployment level than much of the nation.  In addition, home values are steady and sales are continuing to increase, however not at a risky pace.

Check out this new listing below as well as other great potential investment properties in East Baton Rouge Parish, Livingston, & Ascension…

2 Louisiana Cities in The Top 25 U.S. Places To Retire

The 2013 Forbes Magazine list of The Top 25 Best U.S. Places To Retire includes 2 of the Pelican State’s Cities. Both Baton Rouge & Alexandria were chosen after data was collected from over 400 cities in all 50 states.

It’s no surprise that a warm climate is one preferred by some retirees, but many other factors weighed in on this listing. One big factor is that Louisiana was deemed one of the best states for retirees “from a tax perspective.”Forbes researchers also looked for median home prices below the current national average, which, as measured by the National Association of Realtors , is currently $186,000. Then they considered cost of living, availability of doctors, crime rates and encouragement for an active retirement.

Other Fast Facts on the cities:

Alexandria, La – cheap cost of living, median home price $136,000 & above average air quality

Baton Rouge, La – low cost of living, median home price $168,000 & home to LSU

Whether making such a move for retirement is soon to be or still a dream, these two cities certainly are spots worth considering.
